The Computer or the Case

Well, my new computer has started to arrive. I am getting a Lenovo Thinkpad X41. So far, the only part to arrive is the ThinkPlus USB 2.0 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo II Drive. The X41 is designed to be ultra-portable, so the optical drive comes either in a dock or as a USB device.

There isn’t much I can say about the drive without a laptop to hook it up to, but I can say that it is lightweight and really, really small. Just as others have observed: it is little larger than a 2-disc CD case. They said that they shipped the carrying case before the drive, but the drive came from North Carolina (NC), whereas the case is coming from...Hong Kong? The shipping info says it was scanned in “HK” so maybe it’s for the best that it was shipped early. It is a little frustrating that the fun part is the last to ship, but I still don’t know which will arrive first: the computer or the case.

P.S. I know that my blog's comment system is not working quite right. I haven't taken the time, yet, to figure out exactly where the problem is, but I am aware.
